College Career:
 
  • Williams appeared in 10 games in 2001, his freshman season, sitting out vs. Mississippi with an ankle sprain.
  • Despite the injury, he gained 614 yards on 120 carries (5.1 avg.) with six touchdowns as a freshman.
  • He missed the final six games of the 2002 season after breaking his left fibula vs. Florida, gaining 745 yards with 10 scores on 141 attempts (5.3 avg.) before going down to the injury.
  • Williams returned fully recovered in 2003, tying the school single-season record with 17 touchdowns, as he amassed 1,307 yards on 241 attempts.
  • In 2004, he garnered All-America honors and was named to the All-Southeastern Conference first team as both a running back and return specialist as a senior.
  • Williams led the team in rushing for the third time in his career in 2004.
  • He carried 239 times for 1,165 yards (4.9 avg.) and made marked improvement as a receiver, catching 21 passes for 152 yards (7.2 avg.) and a score as a senior.
  • He returned eight kickoffs for 150 yards (18.8 avg.) and totaled 251 yards on 22 attempts (11.4 avg.) in his first venture into handling punt returns. 
  • Williams closed out his senior season with 1,718 all-purpose yards. Only James Brooks (1,800 yards in 1979) and Bo Jackson (1,859 in 1985) gained more all-purpose yards in a season for the Tigers.
  • In 42 games at Auburn, Williams rushed 741 times for 3,831 yards (5.2 avg.) and 45 touchdowns, breaking the old school career records of 657 rushing attempts by Joe Cribbs (1976-79) and 43 scores by Jackson (1982-85).
  • He added 342 yards on 45 receptions (7.6 avg.) with a touchdown, returned 22 punts for 251 yards (11.4 avg.), had 29 kickoff returns for 609 yards (21.0 avg.) and completed both pass attempts for 48 yards and a score.
  • Williams scored a school career record 276 points, topping the old mark of 274 points by Jackson.
  • He finished his career with 5,033 all-purpose yards, ranking second in the school record books behind Brooks (5596, 1977-80).
  • Williams scored a rushing touchdown in 29 of 42 games in his career and scored two or more rushing touchdowns in 12 of those contests.
  • He earned nine SEC Player of the Week honors in his career, the most in conference history.

  • Attended Etowah (Al.) High School
  • The former Alabama Mr. Football and USA Today Alabama Player of the Year started all four years at Etowah High School, where he rushed for 2,612 yards and 38 touchdowns as a senior and 1,729 yards with 23 scores as a junior.
  • On defense, he recorded 78 tackles and six interceptions as a senior.
  • The four-year starter earned Parade, PrepStar and SuperPrep All-America honors and was nominated for the ESPN.com Offensive Player of the Year Award.
  • He was named The Gadsden Times Area Player of the Year as a senior and Etowah County Player of the Year as a junior.
  • He was also the Orlando Sentinel Alabama Player of the Year in 2000.
